For 69 years, some of the finest antique and classic automobiles in the country have made their way to New Hope, Pennsylvania to be judged for authenticity, originality, cleanliness, and condition. Over the years, The New Hope Automobile Show has drawn up to 10,000 people over the two-day show, all looking to see and appreciate the design and technology of automobile manufacturers from all over the world.  This is a two-day show. Saturday is for domestic cars and Sunday is for imports.  Sunday the foreign car day and was attended by members of the DVAROC and the AROC NJ chapters.  Volunteer judges from both DVAROC and AROC NJ for the New Hope Car Show attend a pre-show meeting to review the judging rules and procedures. Each vehicle is scored on a point scale in closed and open car classes across four categories: exterior, interior, engine compartment, and chassis. Judges assess both originality and overall condition, then use the final scores to select first, second, and third-place winners.  Chief judge, NJ Chapter President Enrico Ciabattoni along with Richard Reina NJ Chapter member Paul Mitchell, and Delaware Valley Chapter member John Palumbo.

Thanks to everyone coming out on an incredibly hot afternoon and to the volunteer judges.  It was a banner year turn out of Alfa Romeo’s at New Hope where there were more beautiful Alfa’s than any other mark!

The 2026 Lime Rock Historic Vintage Festival 44 is going to be a very special and exciting event on the east coast as Alfa Romeo is the featured marque. DVAROC along with several other local chapters AROCNJ, CTARO, AONE, HVAROC, have been working with the leadership of Lime Rock Park to make this an absolutely amazing event for all our AROC members.

The event has evolved into a spring tradition that features a family-friendly atmosphere with an exquisite display of local cars, trucks, and motorcycles, exciting activities, participating businesses and organizations, entertainment, great food featuring a pulled pork and best pizza contest, and lots of outdoor fun! 

Eight Alfas, classic and modern, a fantastic turnout of Alfa Romeo’s.  When was the last time you were at a car show where the Alfas outnumbered every other marque?

The DVAROC Spring Tech Session was held on April 11 along with a great turn out of chapter members and members of our neighbor chapter, Central Pennsylvania Alfa Romeo Owners Club. Domenic deMenna and Andy Kaufman (CPAROC) demonstrated front end alignment for a classic Alfa, specifically a 1972 GT Junior. The alignment tech session was presented with 1960 through 1970’s vintage alignment equipment (Bear – Automotive).

Last year the CPAROC had almost 50 Alfas gathered around their tent. AROC-NJ also has members planning to caravan to this year’s event.  This should be a fun event also for DVAROC members to join in with our neighbor chapters.

Faulkner will again provide a lovely BBQ lunch with Chef Christopher cooking and serving the delicacies for all Alfa club members. If you have never attended this event, you really should! It is Import car nirvana! They will have their customary club talk, club swag available for purchase, and our fabulous fund raiser raffle. Arrive early and stay late. Some folks even grab one of the many hotel rooms available near to the fairgrounds. It is best to register online as this allows Carlisle to plan and allot us all the space that we will need. It also helps Chef Christoper determine how much food to bring for the BBQ. The “Gate-n-Go” pre-registration provides you a windshield sticker that allows for direct entrance into the Show field, and other goodies.

Note: March 23rd is the deadline for Gate-n-Go pre-registration. When on the web site, click on Register for the Show, then click on Non-Judged Show field (most of us choose this option) then answer the questions with your car information. Then, on the Import and Performance Club drop-down menu, you will find Alfa Romeo Owners of Central Pennsylvania.
