The show is free for all to see, but to enter a car there is a small charge:

The show is limited to 250 cars (not met yet).

The Borough of Haddonfield has provided for the Car Display area to include the historic area of Kings Highway from the PATCO High Speed Line overpass thru to Haddon Avenue. Cars will be parked head in to the curb with ample space between cars. The street will be filled with classic and antique automobiles.

Live music will be provided by the Sleepless Knights, with the Dovells making a special appearance. Only makes and models of cars manufactured before 1996 will be on exhibit, including vehicles as old as the early 1900s. Prizes will be awarded for top autos, including a mayor’s award.

Dvaroc.org has long supported this event (including a win of the foreign car crowd pleaser award by member Charlie Crothers’ 62 Giulia Spider in 2007)!

Two weeks ago, we told you that the Alfa Romeo 4C “compact supercar” went into production. We detailed some of the body structures and materials at the core of its lightweight mentality. But what will power it, you wonder? We now know.

Although Alfa has long told us its turbocharged 1.75-liter inline four-cylinder gasoline engine would power the 4C. What it’s been reluctant to tell us, though, is how much power the mid-mounted engine would produce.

We’ve learned the oddly sized four-cylinder will make 237 horsepower. Based upon the engine in the European Giulietta, the 4C’s engine has been formed from alloy instead of iron, which saves 65kg.

“We could see a situation where a 
4C driver might easily be quicker on tight, twisting roads, like a mountain pass, than a supercar like the Bugatti Veyron because of its agility and compact size,” Alfa’s European sales boss, Louis-Carl Vignon, told Autocar.

If the 4C is the success that Alfa hopes it will be, more engine options could be offered down the line, including a V6. As it stands, though, the four-cylinder 4C will be pretty peppy, making a 0-62mph run in 5.0 seconds and top speed of 155.

As we’ve mentioned before, Alfa was obsessed with saving weight on the 4C. This pushed to designers not to include any sort of power steering – hydraulic or electronic – so it should be a struggle to parallel park.

Also, the air conditioning system won’t be automatic or dual-mode, like so many performance cars on the market today. With a manual adjustable A/C, Alfa saved the weight of a climate control ECU.

The show will be held at the New Hope-Solebury High School on Saturday August 10th and Sunday August 11th. Show times are 9AM to 4PM daily. As usual Alfa Romeo will have it’s own class on Sunday. Cars will be judged . “BRING A FIRE EXTINGUISHER” It is their rules. If you wish to attend Saturday , make sure their is a class for you!!! 70’s and 80’s cars don’t qualify unless you work it out with them in advance.

Driving a classic 1963 Alfa Romeo Giulia TZ

Paul Hudson puts a 1963 Alfa Romeo Giulia TZ through its paces at the famous Balocco test track.

It’s 50 years since Alfa Romeos Autodelta motorsport division was created; to celebrate, motoring correspondent Paul Hudson visited the brands Balocco test track in northern Italy to experience some of the incredible cars it created. Here, he gets behind the wheel of a 1963 Alfa Romeo Giulia TZ – the first car to be produced by Autodelta and won its class at Le Mans. With its distinctive bonnet vents and flush headlights, this little sports car looks like a smaller Ferrari 250 GTO, and it has the soundtrack and handling to match.
